with the 1st pick in the 2010 NBA draft...

Draft Time

Multiple choice fill in the blank:

Tonight the Grizzlies will _________.

A) Make a huge, relevant trade that makes out team better
B) Make no moves, keep our picks and find the next Troy Bell, Robert Archibald, Demarre Caroll...
C) Trade the picks for cash and give ourselves some "flexibility" in the free agent/trade market

Hmm, tough decision. I can see our management doing any of those.

What I want (wish list perhaps) for tonight
  • Chris Paul - looong shot, but hey, if he's willing to play here, you better try to get him
  • Derrick Favors - I didn't realize he was so damn big and athletic...in the Amare/D12 mold
  • Demarcus Cousins - could be the next Duncan, probably the next Sheed
  • trade Conley - no explanation needed
  • Lance Stephenson - not at 12, but later for sure, why not?
What I don't want
  • Gordon Haywood - I'd rather sign Mike Miller in free agency, and really isn't he Chase Budinger?
  • Patrick Patterson - Don't need another backup 4 and I just don't like him
  • 12th pick - Trade up or trade for a player
I love draft night with all the trades and possible trades and trades that fall through. Entertaining long into the night. I remember falling asleep before the end of the 08 draft and Horace banging on my door at like 1am screaming, "We got OJ!" That was much better than going to bed thinking we had Kevin Love. This year's draft should be trade heavy with half the league dropping salary hoping to sign the King, D-Wade, Bosh etc.

Speaking of Bosh, he cut his dreads, so no more Avatar/Predator jokes. I bet his comment will be, "Cut my hair, it's like a new beginning, new team, new look." I guarantee it! Bet any amount of money he says "new beginning" when he talks about it.

Anyway...lots of big things could happen tonight, things that could change the NBA for the next 5-8 years.

BTW - Miami traded Daquan Cook to the Thunder, making it possible for them to sign Wade and two other max deals...yikes.

World Cup

USA USA USA USA

Landon Donovan scores in extra time to lead US to victory and Group win. If he didn't score, we were out of the Cup. Well done sir, but don't be a little bitch and cry on national TV just yet. Yay, you made it to the Round of 16...now go win something.
